Q: How do I apply?

A: By printing out our application online and filling out all required information. Once completed, please mail application package with supporting documents to:

Q: Once I have submitted my application, how will I know that you have received it? Can I follow up?

A: Due to high volume of applications that we receive with each cycle, we prefer that you wait until you receive your confirmation e-mail from us. If you don’t receive a confirmation email within 4-6 weeks of submitting your application please send a follow up to info@helpcurehd.org.

Q: Is there an application fee?

A: There are no fees to apply for our application, however we do require a background check that incurs an $8.00 charge per individual applicant.

Q: What is the difference between PGT-A PGT-M?

A: These tests are different from each other. PGT-A is to identify embryos affected by chromosomal abnormalities. PGT-M is to identify gene specific disorders.

Q: What will increase my chances of my application being granted by HelpCureHD?

A: Each application is reviewed on a case by case scenario and many variables are taken into consideration.

Q: what can be used to prove that I am at risk for HD?

A: Test results from the affected person, or their mom or dad.

Death certificate from the mom or dad showing HD as the cause of death.

Or medical records from the doctor showing a HD diagnosis.

Q: Can I use my own clinic?

A: HelpCureHD is partnered with various clinics across the US and those clinics will be our first choice (exceptions can be considered.)

Q: If awarded am I responsible for any cost related to the IVF cycle?

A: Applicants will be responsible for consultation and diagnostic tests prior to the start of the IVF cycle.

Q: How long after awarded do I have to use the grant?

A: The IVF needs to be started within 6 months of being awarded.

Q: Is the grant retroactive? Can you reimburse if I start IVF before awarded?

A: No, services will only be paid from the date the grant was awarded.

Q: Which genetic labs do you work with?

A: RGI, Cooper Genomics, iGenomix, Prediction genomics.

Q: Will my employer or insurance be told my HD status?

A: No, we do not share your HD status with employers, insurance, or references.

Q: Do you award outside of the US?

A: US & Canada .

Q: Do you cover embryo storage?

A: We cover embryo storage during the cycle, once transferred it is the applicant’s responsibility.

Q: If I need a surrogate, sperm, or egg donor?

A: For liability purposes we do not.

Q: Will I qualify for the grant if I have an infertility diagnosis?

A: HelpcureHD’s mission and goal is to help eradicate HD from family genealogy, any infertility related procedures will be at the cost of applicant. Infertility will not disqualify you but will be at the cost of applicant.
