What is PGT-IVF?

Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) screens embryos for HD before they are implanted using in-vitro fertilization (IVF). This process allows couples to prevent their children from inheriting and passing on Huntington’s disease.

This process can wipe out the Huntington’s disease gene forever. This technique, coupled with IVF grants and pre-implantation genetic testing, represents a significant area where scientific progress can make a real difference right now for the future of Huntington’s disease families.

PGT-IVF Grants

PGT-IVF is the only way for parents to ensure their biological child will be HD-Free

In 2018, HelpCureHD launched a grant program focused on IVF grants that incorporate Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT-IVF). Our mission is to provide financial assistance to couples, helping to close the economic gap that prevents them from accessing fertility assistance needed to conceive a child free of Huntington’s Disease.

With the high cost of PGT-IVF procedures averaging around $35,000, many couples find themselves unable to have a biological child without the risk of passing on the Huntington’s disease gene. We aim to bridge that gap by awarding grants to U.S. couples who are affected by or at risk of Huntington’s Disease and require financial support.
